Grønlandsūtraen

Grønlandsūtraen by poet Fredrik Høyer and producer Fredfades combines poetry and music in a sutra, or poetic cycle, with a loosely connected narrative reflecting on feelings of anxiety and shock related to climate and future issues, where denial and living in an unreal reality hinder our acknowledgment of this justified fear.

The whole album revolves around 'recycling'. The music is loop-based, the lyrics repeat phrases and words, and the album narrative also has a circular structure. It goes in circles, like life itself. The recycling references are picked up in the design: Wrapped in cardboard, matched with a bright green colour drawn from the recycling bags we use in Norway. The front and back mirrors each other as an infinite loop, with the image trashed and then put back together.

The book (without the music) is only half the experience and its cover is therefore also physically cut in half.
